Rosemary Chick: Pip, Zip, Hooray!

Today is a big day for Rosemary Chick! The world is calling, and she can't wait to meet it-but there's just one tiny problem: she is still inside her shell!

With determination and a spark of curiosity, Rosemary sets out to break out of the shell. Tap by tap, she learns that courage isn't about being ready-it's about trying, even when things feel hard.

Filled with warmth, humor, and gentle life lessons, Rosemary Pip, Zip, Hooray! celebrates perseverance, curiosity, and the excitement of new beginnings. Perfect for ages 3-8, this charming story reminds young readers that even the smallest chick can do big brave things.

Assemblies

If your school loves an energetic, engaging atmosphere, Dawn can host a K-3 assemby that includes an interactive story reading, hands-on student participation, a behind-the-scenes look at how a book is made, discussion of the story’s themes, and time for student questions.

Classroom Visits

For a more intimate setting, schools may arrange for Dawn to visit individual classrooms. These engaging visits include an interactive story reading, discussions about the story’s themes, a question-and-answer session, and optional hands-on activity. Classroom visits are ideal for preschool through third grade. For grade 4th-5th, please contact Dawn to discuss availability and program options.

Discussion Topics

The presentation covers topics such as perseverance, a growth mindset, and creating a book from the point of view of an author.

Program Cost

To make visits affordable for schools, Dawn does not charge a speaking fee and instead requests a minimum of 50 student book orders per visit. A book order form may be provided for administrators to send home with students in advance of the event.

If the minimum number of book orders is not met, the school may choose to purchase additional copies to reach the minimum requirement.

For schools requiring travel outside of Dawn’s local area, travel expenses will need to be covered by the school. Please ask about opportunities to share travel costs with neighboring schools to make visits more affordable.

Preschool Visits & Homeschool Groups

Preschool and homeschool groups may choose to schedule a visit by meeting a minimum order of 10 student books in lieu of a presentation fee. Book order forms may be provided in advance.
